Cupping

Modern Cold cupping therapy is a cupping treatment using a different sizes of flexible medical grade silicon cups. These flexible cups are applied to the skin and the pressure inside the cup is reduced, this is in order to draw and hold the skin and superficial muscles inside the cup.

No heat is required to create the vacuum/suction hence the term cold cupping. The cupping is used to assist with myofascial release, take pressure of nerves, draw blood to an area and to treat trigger points. The cups are either held in place over trigger points or the cup can be massaged over the body. Massage with the cups by gliding then over the muscles assist myofascial release and pain reduction.

Cold cupping is known to help activate the lymphatic system, promote blood circulation, and is good for deep tissue repair and relieving pressure on the superficial nerves. Thus making the massage less painful.
